And Palworld? Well, it’s like a PETA fever-dream. Now, this is gaming blog…so I won’t go into the fact that PETA is an atrocious organization and highly hypocritical…BUT, any sane person would know that what they do in making these games is sickening and just plain stupid. They are a mockery of beloved games trying to say that beneath the cute and cuddly fun, there are messages that it’s okay to abuse animals. It’s not the gore, it’s not the violence, it’s the message behind the game itself.

It’s weird because, I like childhood games getting a creepy twist (like games modeled after Creepypastas), but the mockeries that PETA makes in order to shame and have certain games pulled from the shelves for extremist views…that’s where I draw the line. Have you ever played PETA games? They are horrible, grotesque, twisted versions of fan-favorite family games like Mario & Pokemon, wherein you play as a skinned Tanuki trying to get his fur back from Mario, or you’re abused Pokemon, fighting back against the trainers that used you for fight rings and lab experiments. Just from watching the trailer, the game was already rubbing me the wrong way, for many, MANY reasons! I love games with a little bit of dark humor and dark story- I even love games with all the gruesome hacking and slashing, blood and guts…but this? This is just wrong. Now, I am okay with some dark humor, and I’m even okay with violence in video games…I mean, I have played games like Borderlands, God of War, and Bayonetta and they aren’t exactly PG. But in between the cute and cuddly? There was guns everywhere! They even blew up a church! I’m not making this up! Sure, there were some moments of cute houses being built, and small farms coming together, even a moment where the player was petting a wolf-like creature. These “Pals” being kept in a factory where they are making Assault Rifles on an assembly line and looking absolutely miserable! Poor little money creatures, turning wheels and sweating out in the desert. What I got instead upon watching the trailer? It was a strange little nightmare…Ī human using an adorable sheep as a meat shield and then promptly throwing it away. It gave off a similar vibe that this was a fantasy world where humans and cute creatures work together to create a sort of community. Now, looking at the images I saw, I immediately thought that it was going to be likened to Pokemon. When I hopped on Twitter today, I was surprised to find that there was a new game (in development) that was swiftly gaining attention on my timeline.
